Noted Georgetown Basketball Fan Elected President

President Barack Obama talks with Vice President Joe Biden at the Duke Georgetown NCAA college basketball game, Jan. 30, 2010, in Washington D.C.

Joseph R. Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States.

Biden has long been a fan of Georgetown, taking in a game between the Hoyas and the Duke Blue Devils in 2010 with his son Hunter and then-President Barack Obama.

Biden’s fandom is so great he even followed the team out to China in 2011 as the Hoyas took on various Chinese teams in a series of exhibition matches. He was present in the stands as the Hoyas created an international incident by getting into a brawl with the Bayi Rockets.

Biden is the second confirmed Georgetown fan to be elected President, after Bill Clinton was elected twice in 1992 and 1996.
