I’ll keep it brief due to being slammed with work. #AcademicSchool Feels like 14 points may not be that far off, but this Hoyas team won’t stop fighting. Georgetown spread feels smart here. Hope everybody enjoys their annual reminder that the Big East includes a team that is quite literally in Omaha, Nebraska!

Update: Just found a Jahvon Blair points prop.  I know he was ice cold against Providence, but this will just be too fun not to root for. Throwing a line there too.

In the words of Sam Ehlinger, “We’re baaaackk” (This surely won’t end poorly). After having three weeks free of Georgetown basketball, my sanity has returned, and my mind is clear. Many had given up on this season prior to last Saturday, but our gutsy win over Providence has injected the fanbase with new hope and excitement. These next three games will essentially decide the direction of our season, so buckle up. In terms of this column, my window to generate profit is closing, so let’s make a splash. Facing Creighton in Omaha is certainly a formidable task, but Ewing’s teams have enjoyed a few upset road wins over the last two years, so I’m optimistic. Both teams can play fast and love to shoot the three, hence the high total. However, I think our only chance of victory is a sloppy game. If Creigton gets cold from the outside and we can control the glass with our size, I’ll side with the under.

I expect the bright lights might be a bit overwhelming for the Hoyas at first and would not be surprised to see Creighton jump out to an early lead, thus I like Creighton 1H. Conversely, Georgetown could come out redhot in the first like we’ve seen before, so we’ll tread lightly on that play. Maybe I’m just a victim of recency bias and a stupid fan, but I just do not see a Creighton blow out tonight. Coach Ewing most definitely stressed the importance of the upcoming stretch, and it all starts tonight. This season could be resurrected, and I’m banking on my boys to play with confidence, regardless of the opponent. I’ll take all the points I can get with the Hoyas. @LasVegas, the apology better be as loud as the disrespect!!

Call me crazy, or better yet call me mentally insane, but I think Georgetown has a very decent chance at keeping this game close. As me and my not-so-smooth pickup game know all too well, when it comes to literally anything in life, confidence is key, and basketball is no exception. Is Georgetown completely outmatched? Yes, but they’re also as confident as they’ve ever been.

I may not be a math major, but let’s do some math. Creighton’s last loss was to Providence by four at home. Georgetown just beat Providence. So according to my calculations, Georgetown is winning this game by a million. Again, I may be an idiot, but in my (not so professional) opinion, Creighton is one of the most overrated ranked teams in the country. I know I shouldn’t be talking considering the team I root for, but I think this team has its weaknesses, and Georgetown has the ability to exploit them. I’m expecting a big game from my man Timmy and Qudus.

Ultimately, the start of the semester is probably messing with my head. That damn school thing really has gotten in the way of my degeneracy. As confident as this team may be, I am not quite as confident in them. Considering the fact that John doesn’t have any good bets to fade, I’m going to lay low today. Instead of actually riding my bet, answer this question for me: does the city of Omaha actually exist? Exactly. We’re betting on corn.

It was a real shame that the readers of this fantastic column had to wait three weeks to see this brilliant photoshop by yours truly, but in the words of the GOAT (Yes, he is, and I will debate you on this), “I’m back.” The Syracuse game that now feels like ages ago was my best betting performance arguably of my life, as I went for 3/3 and recovered very slightly to down just 8 units on the season.

Since we last published a column, we witnessed our Heart Attack Hoyas try their best to give us yet another crushing defeat against an inconsistent Providence team, but as one member of Hoya Twitter put it, “In the end, David Duke was just too far right”.

Now onto present day: Creighton has been rolling recently, winning their last three in a row against DePaul, UConn, and Seton Hall. Although Georgetown is notorious for their dreadful defense, I do like them to keep Creighton under 38 for the first half, and maybe cover that first half spread, but I’m not confident enough to toss my units on that. In general, I also feel like 150 is a lot of points for these teams. Although Creighton is ninth in the country in two-point field goal percentage and still shoots a legitimate 37% from beyond the arc, they shoot just 66% from the free throw line, leaving them 278th nationally. As for the Hoyas, well, they don’t do much well on either side of the court, ranking 276th nationally in two-point field goal percentage. Although both Creighton and Georgetown are above the D1 average in offensive tempo, I still see this as a lower scoring affair than Vegas set the line at. Give us a good one Pat.
