Hey students, it’s officially that time of year again on the Hilltop. Classes are starting, basketball season is right around the corner and most importantly Thompson’s Towel is hiring and we want YOU!
If you’re not familiar with us, Thompson’s Towel is an entirely student-run outlet covering Georgetown’s men’s basketball program. We do everything from writing features and opinion pieces to producing podcasts and more.
As of now we are looking to add anyone with an interest in Georgetown basketball. If you are interested in writing, photography, videography, graphic design, or just want to get more involved with the Hoyas, this is the place for you. Got a fiery take about the team? We want to hear it. Do you hate the color orange or think you can fix last year’s problems? Bring it on. Our job is to capture our perspective as students and you will play a huge role in that by joining our team.
Even if you haven’t written before, that’s ok! There is absolutely no experience necessary. All we ask is that you come in with a passion for basketball and a desire to learn. We will take that and work with you to create the best material possible.
By joining Thompson’s Towel you’ll get an opportunity to view Georgetown basketball from a completely new perspective. In the past, we’ve helped our writers and photographers get press passes to cover the games courtside and attend media availabilities. We’ve had the opportunity to send our writers to the 2021 NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis and Big East Media Days at Madison Square Garden. You will get the chance to be an acting member of the media so if you have an interest in entering the world of sports journalism, we can help you out.
Last year might not have been the most exciting for the Hoyas, but with a revamped roster and coaching staff it is the perfect time to get involved!
