The long list of accolades keeps on growing for this talented group of Georgetown freshmen. Forward Josh LeBlanc was named Big East Freshman of the Week for his performances in crucial victories over DePaul and Seton Hall over the past week, notching the second such honor for the season. LeBlanc joins the likes of teammates Mac McClung and James Akinjo, who have both also been honored as the top freshman multiple times on the year.

Over the course of Georgetown’s last two contests, LeBlanc has averaged a double-double (he has 6 on the year) with an impressive stat line of 11 points and 12 rebounds per game, both above his season averages. Though he was his usual active self against DePaul last Wednesday, LeBlanc’s performance in the Hoyas’ double-overtime victory over Seton Hall was nothing short of spectacular. While turning in a season-high 43 minutes, Josh collected 14 points to go along with 17 rebounds (another season-high), eight of which came on the offensive glass. None were timelier than this put-back LeSlam off a missed lay-up to put Georgetown up by two with 90 seconds to play in regulation.

As the motor of this Hoyas team and one of its anchors on defense, LeBlanc will need to continue to play at a high level in the coming weeks if Georgetown is to keep this win-streak alive. While individual honors are the icing on the cake, a strong finish to the season and a trip to the NCAA Tournament are obviously the number one priority. To do that, Josh LeBlanc and the rest of the Hoyas will first focus on surviving a road test at DePaul on Wednesday night.
