On Monday afternoon, the Big East Conference released the second half of its 2020-2021 men’s basketball conference slate.
The Big East had broken the schedule release this year into two separate releases, so that they could have better scheduling flexibility in the event they had to start rescheduling games if there was a COVID outbreak on a Big East team. This strategy proved to be prescient, as DePaul and UConn have both had outbreaks: UConn’s program has shut down twice in the past 40 days due to COVID protocols, and DePaul has yet to play a game this season.
TV channels and tipoff times have yet to be set, but here’s the info for all of the Georgetown games that came out on today’s second-half schedule release. January looks to be a busy month for the Hoyas, with eight games played in a 28 day span. To make things worse, five of those games are road games. Woof.
In addition, there wasn’t any announcement of a rescheduled game for UConn at Georgetown, which was postponed and replaced with the St. John’s game last night. That means the Georgetown faithful will have to wait until the very last game of the regular season to see the Hoyas play their old conference foe on March 6th in Storrs.
