Just when things were beginning to look up, the Georgetown basketball program has hit a new low. Galen Alexander and Myron Gardner both announced Friday afternoon that they will be transferring.
Alexander also declared his innocence regarding the recent allegations and called out the University for allowing him to be “subjected to unfair treatment, with little or no support.”
With Galen and Myron’s departures, it leaves the Hoyas with just 9 scholarship players. Two of those, freshman centers Tim Ighoefe and Malcolm Wilson, have not seen any action this season, presumably to redshirt them for this year. However, the lack of bodies on the roster may leave Ewing with no choice but to burn one or both of the redshirts. We also may see some action from the team’s three walk-ons in the near future, perhaps as early as Saturday.
