Yeah⌠turns out the Georgetown +9.5 bet that we all took last game was not in fact as sure of a bet as we expected. Hopefully, you never listen to us because that would have sucked. The Golden Eagles are favored this afternoon in a game that feels like it could swing any which way. Time to pick your poison.

Before you judge this pick, please let me explain. This is simply a âstrictly business, nothing personalâ situation. My plan is that I will bet against Georgetown for every game of the tournament. That way, every time Georgetown wins, I lose fake, virtual money that only exists on a recurring column written by college students. But, if I continue doubling down on the Georgetown opponent, I will be guaranteed to finish in the green by the end of the season, unless the Hoyas win the Big East Tournament and then I will probably have forgotten that these articles were ever written. Itâs a simple strategy that is guaranteed to work. Good thing this is all theoretical and based on delusion though because the Hoyas winning the whole thing would irresponsibly break oneâs bank account with this method.

âI donât know what else I can say…I f**ked up.â – Jim Calhoun
Coach Calhoun quite perfectly sums up my feelings. I take full responsibility for single-handedly pulling this column down. Georgetown +9.5 against UConn seemed eerily similar to the Georgetown +13.5 free money bet against Villanova, but I suppose those opportunities come only once in a blue moon.
I hate to be unoriginal, but I have to ride with Marquette as well. This will be the debut of my new strategy: bet the complete opposite of my inclinations. I have reached the point where I am intentionally fading myself. Yes, that means I do believe Georgetown will win today. A year ago Georgetown found themselves in a similar position, an eighth seed in the Big East tournament. Somehow, they managed to get themselves eliminated from an NCAA Tournament that did not even occur. Enough about last year. Today marks the beginning of a new era in Georgetown hoops, one of future Big East dominance and an epic Rothstein tagline. I refuse to believe that this will be the last time I watch Chudier Bile on national television. My heart just tells me Georgetown. Which is exactly why Marquette is the play.

I am torn. Part of me wants to agree with the strategy the rest of the boys are riding, but the rest of me wants me to listen to myself. So as the champion of the column, the only thing I can do is cement my place atop the Mount Olympus of Bet the Blue and Gray. If Georgetown loses, I win. If Georgetown wins, we live to bet another day. Let’s just leave it at that. Roll Hoyas.

Let me be clear – Georgetownâs winning this game. Theyâre winning it. I legitimately had no intention of taking Marquette at all on this column, but Iâll be frank. Bobbyâs methods put me in a win-win situation here. Iâm already positive on the year, so worst comes to worst, Georgetown wins the Big East Tournament and I lose a ton of meaningless units in the midst of a Cinderella run. No risk, BIG REWARDS.
